Atlantis Academy was established in Miami in 1976 as an innovative program for students needing a personalized, specialized education program tailored to their individual learning style. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to enhance our students’ academic, social and emotional growth and to foster self-worth and self-confidence.
In 2001, Atlantis Academy was acquired by ChanceLight, Therapy and Education, which allowed us to expand our reach and enhance resources for our students and families.
Today, Atlantis Academy includes three campuses in Coral Springs, Miami, and West Palm Beach and serves students in grades K-12 (through age 22). We educate more than 500 students who have unique learning needs and help them develop the education and life skills to reach their full potential academically, socially and behaviorally.
Recognizing a need for a program to help young adults of differing abilities become more self-sufficient, we developed the Atlantis Academy L.I.F.E. program to offer students a system of supports through community-based experiences and partnerships. We concentrate on academics, social skills, employment, independent living skills, self-advocacy and self-determination skills to lead students through their journey to a more independent life.
We launched the program at our Miami campus in 2014, added it to our Coral Springs location in 2016 and are expanding to Palm Beaches in 2019.
